Home / Oral Hygiene
Effective oral hygiene is key to preventing everyday complications like cavities, gingivitis, and gum disease. Without it, teeth easily decay and gums become infected, leading to bone and tooth loss.
We evaluate and review your home hygiene methods during each preventive care visit at our office. Some important things to keep in mind include:
Many people discontinue brushing their gums or flossing if the gums bleed during the process. However, healthy gums should never bleed, and bleeding is usually a sign of gingivitis. With dedicated care, most gingivitis symptoms will reverse within two weeks.
If problems persist or you begin to notice bad breath and tooth mobility, contact our office immediately.
