Conquering Oral Thrush

Conquering Oral Thrush

Oral thrush, also known as oral candidiasis, is a common condition that is caused by an overgrowth of yeast, Candida albicans, in the mouth. This overgrowth can result in the formation of white patches on the tongue, inner cheeks, and gums.

Common causes can include an imbalance of natural bacteria due to medical conditions, medication and poor oral hygiene.

To treat oral thrush, antifungal medications are used, and it is important to maintain good oral hygiene, such as brushing and flossing, as well as avoiding sugary and high-carbohydrate foods.
