Keep Your Teeth in Tip-Top Shape When You Travel

If you’re going on holiday or packing your bags for that much-needed trip, don’t take a vacation from maintaining healthy oral hygiene habits. One of the best ways you can keep your dental health on track before you head for the open road, rails or skies, is by visiting your dentist for a checkup.

Of course, you want to make sure you packed your toothbrush, toothpaste and dental floss. If you forgot your toothbrush, you could always use toothpaste on a clean washcloth or even finger until you can purchase a new brush at your destination. If you are visiting a country where the water supply is compromised, always use bottled water to protect against bacteria, which could ruin your trip. Drinking bottled water also can help to remove debris from your mouth.

It’s also a good idea to include a pack of sugarless gum which promotes saliva production and helps to wash away the bacteria that can cause cavities.
